24-year-old refuses to switch desks with entitled coworker, she forces manager to intervene: 'I picked it first!'

No one likes that one coworker who walks around the office acting like they own the place when in reality, they very much do not.

Look, we have respect for young employees who have enough confidence in the workplace to advocate for themselves. That being said, there is a fine line between confidence and entitlement. This coworker may have thought she was embodying the former, but that's not how it was received.

This 24-year-old author recounted a story about when his team was getting settled in a new office space. He was quick to claim a desk that gave him a nice view but did not put him in harsh, direct sunlight. Meanwhile, his 27-year-old coworker Maya, who was late to the game, was stuck with a less-than-stellar desk. Still, it was a perfectly legitimate desk, and the fact that she got the short end of the stick seemed to have more to do with her punctuality and planning. 

However, she would not accept this arrangement and began to pressure the author to switch places with her. He stood his ground, which then prompted her to waste everyone's time and get their manager involved.
